The Irish firm signed a distribution agreement with M3D LLC, a company based in Maryland whose founders David Jones and Michael Armani launched the printer as a Kickstarter project in 2014 with the title "The Micro: The First Truly Consumer 3D Printer". The crowfounding campaign obtained a lot of success, rising $3,401,361 with11,855 backers.
